Collection of Khmer Food

Khmer food has a mixture of sweet, salty, sour, and spicy! I’ve enjoyed the many different flavors. Here are some dishes I’ve tried so far!

Rice with Pork (Bai Sach Chrouk)

“Rice is another typical food even for breakfast. One such dish is rice with pork (Bai Sach Chrouk) – smoky, sweet, charcoal-grilled pork served with rice and tangy pickled radish and cucumber which is one of the most popular breakfasts in the morning. “ (Reference: Siem Reaper)

Fish Amok

“Inspired by ‘Amok’, a Cambodian fish curry, this tangy, aromatic dish combines turmeric, delicate basa and aromatic lemongrass with creamy coconut. Serve over rice with pickled cucumber and a sprinkle of fresh chilli.” (Reference: Gousto)

Beef Lok Lak

“Beef Lok Lak is a beef stir-fry set up with onions, cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce , served with rice and a fried egg. To make it even more tasty Cambodians would dip the beef in sauce made of pepper, salt and lime juice.” (Reference: Dine with the Locals)

I also got to try some snacks! These were a few of my favorites.

Chips and Mango Salsa

Street Food – Potato Fries

Street Charcoal — Grilled Chicken
