I wasn’t expecting my first blog post of the year to be about this but while reflecting on 1 Corinthians 7, I was asking myself this question. Why do we long to be married?

I learned that being open and vulnerable is not easy, but it’s the way God has created us and we need each other’s support in our highs and lows. We need community, no matter how messy it may look, there is beauty and grace in a God-centered community.

In this day and age, we really need all these types of friends in our lives. It’s so important to have community around us. Some might think, “I have my phone, my online friends, it’s enough for me” or “I really don’t trust anybody” or even “everyone is my friend!” – it’s essential to wisely seek for true friendships that will walk alongside us no matter what season we are in.
